Possibly better than 2014. Nutty, structured, and complex. Fills the mouth with balanced structure and beautiful aromatics. Long finish.

A lovely evening of fondue, and white wine!

Manzanilla. Streaky acids. Walnuts, very savory. Missing a little concentration and a little oxidative, but does the trick. This bottle was either past prime or a bit flawed. Usually great producer.

Aldehyde-forward with notes of o2. Rich (14% abv) and textured but with a nice streak of acid. Needs cheese or something

I dropped by my local yesterday afternoon and while I was there, I was offered a glass of something that was brought by another client. It turns out, a very generous one. The Jura is a very unique region and I have to admit that I rarely drink the wines but they are always something different and I love and respect that. This wine was a dark golden color that made me think this was a “Vin Jaune” which is the most famous wine of the region. It certainly smelled like it! We’re talking candied roasted nuts (you know the kind that you smell near mall food courts) with apricot, orange marmalade and exotic spices. Obviously made in a super oxidative style. Yet, this was labeled as Cote du Jura so technically I believe this is a “Vin Typés“ which is similar to “Vin Jaune” just not aged as much. On the palate, this was liquid dried apricots and finished dry and long with super acidity. I was nearly begging for cheese at this point! Fun to try something like this with so much age on it. Makes me wonder if these could last for decades if stored properly.

Definitely from the Jura. Oxidative in all the best ways. Great mouthfeel and length.

Rich, complex, refreshing and elegant. And I don't even like oxidative wines.
