1994 Artadi Grandes Anadas Rioja. Date night at Kokk in SF. No bueno. At first, absolutely zero nose- we thought it might open up, some could figure out what was going on. After an hour in the glass, we finally got the wet cardboard notes. Bad bottles.

Sweet fruit with some vanilla oak and leather, age has brought some nice complexity, but it still has room for development.

Dec 8th, 20181994 Artadi Grandes Anadas Reserva Tempranillo. Dinner at Tap during staycation. K couldn't remember where or how he had gotten this, but thought it was worth a try. Drank after the '08 Flowers PN and what a contrast. This wine was big, chewy and funky- not barnyard, but earth, mushrooms, musty moss. A predictably loved this wine. We really enjoyed it and thought that it drank great, but could hold a while longer.
