Drank 3/25/19. Paired with Rigatoni Bolognese.

Red cherry earth, and leather on the nose. Similar flavors on the palate, with some firm, but well integrated tannins. Sour cherry on the long finish.

I love Italian wines, but could not pick this from sangiovese if tasted blind. A nice chianti alternative.

3/21/8/3/4 + 50 = 89 pts.

A nice value at $17.

Fresh ripe cherries, followed by a soft earthy tannin, little smokey and spicy finish, even though no oak, stainless steel A little rounder and not as much acid. Nice enough. $18

Always feels like fall when fresh Dolcetto and Barbera arrive. Friends don't let friends drink old Dolcetto. #vanguardwines

Very blah. Maybe just not in the mood for this type of wine tonight. We'll see tomorrow!

Underrated grape produced by a couple who really know what they are doing. No wood barrels, so you get every natural flavor of the grape.

It’s definitely a wine, appears to be a red

Super tart black cherry with a touch of road tar and tobacco. Bright, underripe and crunchy, with a little more acid for the varietal. Could pair well with salmon or aperitifs.

More cursive on the bottle. Is this more auspicious? Color: darker red (maroon, magenta). Smells Italian. Smoke, berries and loads of both types of cherries. Flavors are voluptuous and ripe. More cherries and a lovely rose petal, licorice, anise streak. This is smooth and luscious, but it’s got plenty of redeeming qualities and should match red sauce and pastas great.
