This is the 2011 Sandrone Cannubi Brochis Barolo. Single Vineyard from Piedmont. A wonderful wine we enjoyed this week.

On the nose the is strawberry, cherry, rose, graphite, balsamic, mint and pepper.

On the palate there is cherry, black raspberry, black plum, spice, pepper, herbs and light chocolate.

This is a full bodied wine with a smooth mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium+ firm fine tannins that leaves you with a beautiful red & black fruit underbrush finish. I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to their weekend and enjoying some wonderful wines. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

If the 2012 was great, this one is ground—almost caramel in texture and taste except not sweet. Full, textured, rich.

Not aging as well as anticipated for this legendary bottle but delicious with grippy tannins and smoked cherry notes. From Total Wine

A fabulous wine that really captures the essence of the Sandrone style during this era. Perfumed, sensual, modern and just exquisite. Sublime...😍🤪😱🤩💥

The last Boschis (since renamed by Sandrone) and a great one. What a nose, bridle leather and rich red flowers. Beautifully delineated with tarry red fruit, asphalt and Asian spice. Long and beautifully tannic tail, decanted 1 hr but this will need 5-8 years to peak.

Mixed reviews in the tasting group, but I loved it. Not all Barolo can be tense and nervous all the time. This was hedo Nebbiolo, dark, extracted, tannic and piled with rich fruit and savory notes. Cooked cherry, blood orange, orange peel, tar, smoke, sauvage almost, loads of spice. I thought it was immensely fun

Considerable depth, red profiled. Cassis, cherries, obviously tar and roses... This 1996 Sandrone is modern and racy. I rather like it. Traditionalists might not.

Dark fruit turning tertiary. Power but elegant too. Dried roses, tar, faded red fruit. Gorgeous but probably past its best.
