Founded by Bill Foley to realize a dream to produce world class wines in Santa Barbara County, and in 1998, he purchased 460-acre property, planting 230 acres of vineyards. Dark in color with aromas of sweet ripe berry fruits with a touch of oak. On the palate cherry and cranberry flavors with tobacco, oak and earthy notes. Soft tannins, good balance on lingering finish ending with notes of earth and pepper spice. Nice.

This is 7000 case production brand from the 550 acres they own. The other brands using this fruit is lincourt and two sisters

Tonight's wine at dinner is the 2012 Foley Pinot Noir. On the nose we get strawberry, cranberry, some cola and some forest floor. On the palate I am getting a good boysenberry, sour cherry, wet stone, red raspberry and a touch of carmel. Medium mouth feel, medium acidity, and medium soft tannins. A nice drinkable wine.

Black cherry cola, medium-weight, well-made cool climate Pinot. Compared with three single-clone bottlings.

Tropical nose, with a bit of a petrol and a touch of heat. Very warm palate, nice acidity, tropical fruit, and some nuttiness. Wish the ABV was a bit lower, but the wine is still hanging on nicely.

Very dark newer style Cali pinot. Was bigger than a meritage blend I had before it. Not my style.

This was a delightful wine. A bit on young side, but Sta. Rita Hills proud. Fruit forward, strawberry.
