Dark, glass-clinging amethyst purple with opaque black core. Initially shy but inviting nose of blackberry, echoed on the medium full plate which adds notes of licorice, dark plum, and patent leather. Juicy, medium plus acidity enhancers the fruit and, paired with medium tannins, yields a very food-friendly Syrah that's a natural for steaks, roasts, or grilled fare. Try it with black olive pizza! Drink now through 2028.

Dark purple in color with a short purple rim.

Light nose of blueberries, currants, plums, oak, licorice, spices, espresso, red candy, cola, vegetables, leather, earth, black tea and black pepper.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, smoke, tobacco leaf, vegetables, vinaigrette, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee and black pepper.

Long tangy finish with firm tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a young Syrah from Northern Rhône. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel and nice complexity.

Good by itself or with food. Better after 2 hours of airtime when it shows the tannins.

Still young and needs another 5 to 10 years of additional bottle time.

I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers, but it was really good with Brie cheese.

100% Syrah grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 6 months.

13% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$30.

Monthly WTF wine group meet up. This month is new world vs old world Rhône’s. All wines tasted blind. 3 flights.

I called this old world Syrah. Checks off all the boxes for a C-H. This had more meat and acidity than the Pax it was poured alongside. Similar dark red fruit profile. Thanks

Ruby in color with a wide brick/ orange rim.

Earthy nose of blueberries, earth, light vanilla, wood, leather, forest floor, wet leaves, green vegetables, bell pepper, spices, bitter herbs and black pepper.

Light to medium in body with medium plus acidity. Soft, velvety and elegant.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, strawberries, cranberries, earth, pomegranates, wet leaves, forest floor, leather, dirt and black pepper.

Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and spices.

This 24 year old Northern Rhône gem is still drinking nicely. Very earthy with lots of green notes. Not fully balanced any more, but still drinkable by itself and better with food. Showing a lovely nose and great complexity.

Needs 30 minutes of airtime, and after that it drank very nicely for about 2 hours until it died.

This 100% Syrah is drinking so lightly and elegantly now, not what I would expect from a Syrah...

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

85 points.

Lovely blackberry, and violet nose with some meaty, bacon undertones. Chewy tannins, medium body and balancing acidity. Great for the price!

Campfire and stone. Definitely a little H2S issue, but burns off.
