These wines take forever to come around. Tight as nails still. Will be a beauty in 5 years!

Been a long time since I’ve had one of these. Nose starts off closed but then it stays to unfurl. Red berry, cranberry and cherry fruit. Licorice and even a hint of grapefruit. Palate is dazzlingly fresh and vibrant with gorgeous velvety tannins and terrific length. Still seems young at 15. What wines these were in their youth. Can’t believe how glacially they are aging. Fruit is there on the palate but not as much as I’d like there to be.

I know these are built to age but after a number of nights of drinking wonderful older wines we wanted something a bit…fresher tonight. With a 3+ hour decant this definitely fit the bill. Very deep in the glass - almost purple. Quite burgundian but the crunchiness keeps this in Beaujolais. Excellent red fruit. Tannins are quite tight and teeth staining but the finish is lovely with great refreshing acid. Nice pairing with simple roast chicken thighs, and an excellent value <$30. Going to send some to storage.

Sick. Cherry pits. Spice. Apples. McIntosh apples. Sick. Full bodied and spicey. Complex. Granite. Velvety. Stunningly pure. Tiny bit of bitterness on the end.

Agree w some comments that it is tight as a button & needs time/decant if now. Still, nothing flabby here & core Morgon etched in; Try in 2/3 yrs. And yes, enjoyed it now!

Also a bit bretty and tight as a drum for a 10+ year wine. Some fun funk but a little out of balance and volatile.

This is just throwing funny aromas and flavors. Maybe too soon?
