Powerful nose of leather, rose, violet, blackberry, black cherry carrying through to a similar palate with notes of graphite and mushroom. Still a ways to go with plenty of fruit concentration and grippy tannin. Better with food but a delight as always

At its peak, good fruit, good expression of Montalcino Sangiovese in a vintage that remains difficult.
Enjoyable, but not unforgettable.

Really really like this wine. Such a good Brunello and offers better quality to price ratio than most. Had the 2017 in September and this was just as good with a slightly more developed flavour. Highly recommend!
