Dark meaty nose. Raisins and dark chocolate. Creamy with a smooth finish. $54.99

Good aromatics; not too raisined, balsamic, black fruit. Good texture and length; surprised by the heightened acidity. Just ok.

Nice wine. Cherries, tobacco, dried herbs. Medium-bodied and dry, as in not too sweet, nor too heavy (14,5%).
Not sure I would have called this Amarone when served blinded.

I discovered this little gem 20+ years ago. Still performs admirably.

Drinking the 2012 in magnum format in 2016. Decanted for 2-3 hours. Maroon colour and nice gentle Ribena nose. A very pleasant and quaffable restrained cherry flavour - not tart, not bitter. A more delicate and soft but well balanced wine that we had expected it to be, this worked very well with our lovely homemade pizza dinner.

Full bodied, nice table wine. Good with cheeses.
