Happy Labor Day. The wine I have chosen is the 2010 Domaine Eden Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon. From Saratoga, CA a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, plum sauce, nlack currant, green bell pepper, vanilla, smokey oak, spice and earth.
On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, green bell pepper, woody oak, black pepper, spice, herbs and dark earth.
This wine is full bodied well integrated and balanced with medium+ acidity and medium+ firm mouthcoating sandpaper tannins that leaves you with a long dark fruit oak driven earthy finish. Oak isn’t integrated aromatically or on the palate. Kinda planky. Wine have great balance and concentration though.

Founded in 1945, as a small historic wine estate perched at 2000 feet overlooking Silicon Valley in the Santa Cruz Mountains, an original “boutique” winery. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc & 2% Petit Verdot, aromas of dark berry fruits, tobacco and dried herbs. Flavors of blackberry, herb pepper and earthy tones, savory, well balanced with a touch or sweet oak. Needs decanting. Firm tannins, lingering ending with mineral notes. Very Nice.

Best Cab in a long time for me. Coffee and mint on the nose with dark fruit and pepper on the medium palate with medium acidity and soft tannins.

The best wine of the night. Nicely structured fruit with good balance/acidity, moderately dark fruit but also strawberry notes. Complex.
