Blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, from Monte Bello Vineyard, deep Ruby with purple edges, aromas of dark berry fruits, sweet spice and toasty oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and ripe blueberry with vanilla, cedar and tobacco. Fine defined tannins, long finish ending with fruit, toasty and earthy notes. Nice!

One of a few good finds on a very boring down the middle wine list. Really nice wine, but very young. Would love to revisit in 10 years. Intense fruit without being overripe, great structure and balance.

My ‘Mercian wine for a happy 4th! And these exploded! The cab was very good. Initial nose was big, but the mid palate was thin, even watery. Finish brought it back. Threw it in a decanter and 6 hours later it came together with black currants, chocolate, and just enough oak to backbone without ruining it. Meanwhile we had the ridge Syrah behind it which is my happy place.

Stunning wine that is just a baby. If you see this and you’re wondering whether to drink, either wait a few more years or decant for at least a few hours before drinking

Classic cab. Delicious on the nose, mellow tannins but still well structured. Layers of cassis and red fruit. Nice acidity to balance. Long finish. I love this wine. I decanted, but this wine jumps right out of the bottle. Occasion: Major deal closed in the Covid19 Testing Space.

Tonight's wine is the 2017 Ridge Estate Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.

The nose has rich dark fruits of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, chocolate, violets, graphite and rich earth.

The palate reveals black cherry, blackberry, black currant, green bell pepper, soft toasted oak, graphite, licorice, spice, violet and earth.

This wine is full bodied filling the mouth with rich notes, medium + acidity and medium + mouth coating grippy tannins that moves nicely into a long black fruit finish. This wine does not disappoint for a second wine from Ridge. I hope your week has been going well and we have all been safe and healthy. Let's look forward to the weekend with more openings. Have a great rest of your week. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷
