Nose has ripe plum, summer blackberries, moist garden soil, black cherry, faint eucalyptus and mahogany shavings.

Palate has ripe black cherry, ripe blackberry, ripe plum skin, faint milk chocolate with light tannins. Silky smooth, long finish, great balance of dark fruits to acidity, in a perfect spot today. Decanted 6H.

An early Father's Day with my parents, so I don't have to compete with my Sister & Nephew's in 24 hours, plus we'll have the better wine. 🤞

This is, to my taste, at its peak. Gorgeous nose shows pure Zinny blackberry fruit, rich gravelly loam, a whiff of pine forest, a little eucalyptus, and a bit of American oak. Super-elegant texture. Round, mouthfilling, good integrated balancing acids provide a tangy echo, barely perceptible tannin. Intense flavors finish long and pure. RRV is usually not my first choice for Zin, but this kicks ass.

A blend of 97% Zin and 3% Petite Sirah, dark Ruby with purple edges. Ridge's history begins in 1885, when Osea Perrone, a doctor and member of San Fran’s Italian community, bought 180 acres near the top of Monte Bello Ridge and planted vines. Aromas of rich dark fruits with herb spice notes. On the palate cherry and raspberry flavors with some vanilla oak and pepper spice. Firm yet soft tannins, medium finish, good mouthfeel ending with spicy fruit character. Nice!

In great drinking window. Paired with grilled tri-tip.
