La Louvée Cornas Syrah

Sweet baking spices: tarragon, green and white pepper, basil. Brett, meat, some minerals. Tart black and blue berries on the palate, eucalyptus, licorice, dust, clay, forest floor, tar, full body and concentration. Elevated staining, acidity, and gripping tannin. Iron. Neutral oak. Horsy (Brett), barn yard, and rusty.

Rich, open, and layered. Yum.

Black pepper, firm tannin, BBQ.

Not the best but still rock solid.

2016 vintage. Lighter than expected with a light-medium body. Elegant. Still some grip/punch along with that watch me slowly walk away finish. The pretty side of Cornas vs the blockbuster side. Overlook this wine being bottled in Bordeaux bottles.

In a great place.

Smooth and refined.

Drinking well. Anise and pepper. I would imagine plenty of time left to hold this one.
