Recommended by the somm tonight when the Rioja I chose wasn’t available. He brought out this Ribera and a couple of other Riojas and opened them all for me to taste, my kind of guy! For a Crianza, this is better than I expected. Sweet aromas of blackberries, balsamic vinegar, leather, dark chocolate and vanilla. Bold and concentrated in the mouth, smokey and rich. Generous tannins, medium plus acidity and alcohol. Sumptuous!

Great Ribera Del Duoro!! I haven’t had a wine with such a distinct blackberry note on the palate. Really well-balanced example of a Ribera Tempranillo. (CHF 23)

This wine is simply perfect. Full wine but not going to overpower your food. Coffee, cherry, leather. Everything wonderful.
