Currants and spice on the nose, bright raspberry with signs of oak on the palate. Took a while to open up.

Very deep color. Very ripe on the nose, with some VA/stuck fermentation notes, chocolate, even some earthy truffle. Very ripe, plush fruit on the palate, very sweet, saved by good acidity. Bears the mark of a hot vintage and seems like the winemaker lost some control here.

Everything you want in a Barbera. Acid, fruit, earth, and hints of flowers.

I like my Barbera a little more approachable at this age, not this is a fine example of the modern style.

Bit of a revelation for someone who’s never loved Barbera. Smokey, plenty of fruit, some forest floor. Excellent acid & length. Drank with burrata ravioli & salsiccia. Lovely.

Very deep dark purple color. Full bodied, well balanced with great acidity and tannic structure. Still needed time opening up, and just starting to hit early side of drinking window. Will probably go another 5 years. Cranberry, plum, currant, black cherry, pencil shavings, violet, and a hint of baking spice all make for an interesting wine
