'08. Reminder not to age Nero. Chocolate covered prunes is about all I get.

Capa y densidad baja, en nariz tierra, humedad, fruta roja poco madura, monte bajo. En boca buena entrada, paso equilibrado y final agradable y especiado.

2010 - Earthy with firm acidity, definitely a food wine. @VdaWinery #SicilianWines

Smelled fantastic (2009)! Fresh cherries and raspberries on dry riverbed. Initially showed tight and green with a touch of unpleasant funk. This blew off, and the flavors balanced showing minerality boosting ripe bing cherries, black plum skin, and dirt clods. Great food wine, affordable and versatile. Very Southern Italy In its profile.

Combines pristine almost Burgundian fruit with Italian leather and tar qualities.

Solid nero d'avola. Some black cherries, damp earth, and a hint of old leather. Moderate tannins and good structure. Perhaps not the greatest example of nero d'avola that I've had, but I will certainly revisit this grape again in the future. 100% Nero d'Avola. 4/14/22.

Unfair to taste it along good Nebbiolo’s. Nero d’Avola feels bit too forward without the solid structure.

Consistent from the 2013 vintage, maybe little less color and slightly baked aromas similar to the Douro Reds.
