This is a well balanced Zinfandel, just enough fruit forwardness and an even balance of toasty cocoa from the barrel. If you see this wine, grab it. Jed makes some outstanding wines.

Third red from Steele Wines. Beautiful purplish red. Tight nose to start, needed a couple hours to fully open up. Some light petrol on the nose with some baking spices, purple floral notes and dark berries. Slightly jammy to start, no where close to some other Zinfandels in California. A little heat and notes of dry sticks and red fruits. Moderate tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. Dry finish that is moderate in length but seems to die down. Drink till 2020.

Drinking as instructed. One if my favorite Zinfandels. Bright raspberry fruit sour cherry and spice notes very balanced style at 15.2 packing a bit of heat.

14.5% alc.

Catfish Vineyard is one of the oldest in Lake County with vines dating back to 1901.
Primarily Zinfandel (but at least five other varietals) is included in this field blend.

Tasted blind I found this super enjoyable and punching way over its modest price tag of $25.

Drinking by the glass while enjoying a steak in Whitefish MT. with my wife and friends. Well balanced, characters of red fruit, yes clove and herbal tea. A pleasant approachable wine.🇺🇸

This is a full bodied dry Zin with noticeable layers of jam and coffee. Bright deep red and just as rich tasting as it looks.
