Cherry barnyard hay nose. Delicate light red fruit on the palate lengthy finish. But... as eating spicy sausage and it was already overpowering the flavors. Will revisit later.

Trader Joe's CDP? Classic Chateauneuf du Poop French stinky thing layered over muted aging stewey red fruit. Stemmy. But a great value. "Le Fiacre du Pape" - "the pope's carriage," in case you were curious.

Probably some of the best value CDP around. Savory, classic and unpretentious.

This is a young Grenache blend from the South of France.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, cherries, currants, earth, wood, spices, light vanilla, vegetables, tobacco, black coffee, bitter herbs and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

Easy drinking and gentle. Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up.

Would benefit from another 5 to 10 years of bottle time.

Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel and mild complexity.

A blend of 60% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, 15% Cinsault and 10% Syrah.

14% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

$25.

Stemmy. Red fruit, minerals. Green. Tough right out of the bottle. Maybe better tomorrow.
