Extremely nice but needs some time in the cellar. Super complex with deep fruit, earth, and plenty of acid.

Didn’t decant this time, unlike last time, and that was the right call! This bottle is singing - so nice and deep black and red fruit. All coming together.

It was ready. Went great with braised lamb. It has peaked. Not going to get much better than this!

A guest brought from cellar. Elegant and nice finish.

Not sure if btl is showing correctly. A bit dull in the nose and on the palate

Excellent paired with French cheeses ( Fourme d’Ambert, pavé de brebis, fromages de chèvre de Normandie et d’Anjou). Had the 2017 vintage in July 2023.

A little life left in the old lady. It’s seen better times but it still had a nice kick to it. Good color, great strong nose with notes of violets and berries structured in a nice earthy tone Fun to drink but drink now before it’s too late. Did I mention the cool bottle?

Nice wine but probably better a few years ago. Was worried it would be too over extracted or jammy or oaky or hot but it was none of those - perhaps due to age and the 2 hour decant. Overall slightly one dimensional but still good fruit. Finish lacked.

On to something interesting,
Jeb & Vinous 95

K&L notes, The flagship wine from Gardine, the Gaston-Philippe is named for Gaston and Philippe Brunel. The wine is equal parts Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre aged in new barrique. Composed of the oldest vines from the estate, they range between 60-90+ years of age. A benchmark wine from a benchmark producer!
