Gherardino Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend

Last of my case of this. Man has this matured over the short year-ish that I've had it. White pepper, subtle cherry, anise, hazelnut. Medium bodied, medium alcohol, medium minus acidity, soft yet chewy tannins. If not for some sharp angles on the finish, I would blind taste this as a Brunello presentation of Sangiovese. This can improve still more with age. Excellent!

Nice Chianti. Sharp clear berries and pleasant controlled tannins.

Spicy, meaty aromas of plum and earth. Gentile, drying tannins matched by plum and cherry fruits. Long, soft, slightly spicy finish.

A full nose of musty root cellar, smokey with vanilla undertones. Dry and good tanins. If I knew more about chianti Classico I'd say it has all the right characteristics of one. This changes quickly and is jammy and went well with my tortellini-a good step in the right direction for my dip into Italian wines.
