A scrumptious glass -especially considering the context of appellative California Cabernet Sauvignon. I find this remarkably true to type in terms of the blackberry and cassis character -not this crème de cassis muck gussied up like the peers at this echelon but true, fresh cassis in their thick skinned fruit of the forest meets gamey meaty notes. By far the most French California Cab I've had at the statewide appellative level -most notably for its bright character, cassis leaf dimension and a wisp of pencil shavings one might find among the better Bordeaux Superieur.

Ruby glass with translucent pink rim. Medium nose of blackberry, cassis, fig, anise and vanilla. Light bodied tart acid to the palate brings sour cherry and raspberry with fine tannins leading to a medium cherry finish. Balance shifted to nose and lacks structure. Greenish sour cherry flavor and bitter tannins suggest insufficient value at $11.79 USD.

I let Graham drink most of it because I did not enjoy it. Not offensive, just not that great.

Fetid nose, fermented undergarment, sour unpleasant taste, lingering fecal flavor.
