Poggio Antico was founded in 1976 and consist of 50 clayey, calcareous acres of Brunello di Montalcino. A blend of 50% Sangiovese, 50% Cab Sauv, aromas of ripe black fruit with sweet spice notes. On the palate cherry and strawberry flavors with hints of cacao, good structure, well balanced. Youthful fine tannins, lingering, ending with concentrated fruits. Good now, has aging pontential.

Absolutely loved this wine. Cab added to the Sangiovese makes this very interesting.

Strong tannins, but decently well balanced, leather, chocolate, floral maybe violets, so lovely

Reliving our time at their winery in 2013. Brought a few back and this is Incredible right now! Red fruits, Oak, VERY full bodied with a 30 sec finish!! Bet this would be good in 5 more years too.......outstanding Super Tuscan, and what a flash back to tasting it at the winery in Montalcino!!
