Domaine Anne Gros & Jean-Paul Tollot
La 50/50 Côtes du Brian Carignane-Cinsault Blend
Solid, straightforward. Not complex but a nice cheap weeknight red.

Nov 14th, 2018Delightfully stinky nose of wet hay.
First sip is all funk. Next One starts to show tart cherry, blueberry, and sage.
Raspberry zinger drunk from a wooden cup, is how I taste the ending of this.
Neat wine.

Love this old world red funk. Just the perfect food wine. Almost anything really but pair with stewed meats, nothing too spicy to over power the subtle notes of minerals and earthiness. I’ll reach for this one again when I’m serving braised short ribs, stewed chicken or beef or a hearty soup. Wonderful! Enjoy!!

Sep 16th, 2016A bit hot and edgy. Started to soften in the glass but did not go far enough. Maybe hours in a decanter or years in the cellar will help.
