Beautiful pure aromatics of slight smoke, thyme, kirsch, blueberry, bubblegum and peony. Excellent flavour intensity and length here

Pretty damn dense! Needs time I feel. Dark, drinks more like a Pinot, structured, drying tannins, dark red fruits, blackberries, savoury, meaty, smokey, mineral, tense acidity. Delicious. First Bouland, from old vines. Really liking this wine - great value too.

Update: Few days later, the aromas have changed. So floral, the nose is seriously intoxicating!

The sickest vintage of this wine yet. Bouland is a master. This parcel is close to 80 yrs old, I believe. Nose is woodsy, bay leaf, cassis, wild leafy strawberries, white pepper and some lighter soil tones. Same on the palate with great sap and length. Chewy and dense yet crushable at the same time. Gonna buy a case to lay down.

13 Morgon : well this is just flat out delicious. hardly any surprise that from the exceptional 2013 vintage, Daniel Bullard has crafted an outstanding Morgon . A joy to the eye w its mid wt red w a hint of violet ; the palate perfectly echoes the nose of crushed small red berry fruits with lovely crunchy acidity, medium intense middle palate. Excellent line and drive underpins a glorious fragrant finish which closes with nicely rounded tannins. Benchmark Cru Beaujolais. Bravo M. Boulard ! 🍷
