Sweet, port-like, almost pruney nose. Some wood and a bit of gravel underneath. I like the texture (mouthfilling and tannins under control), but it’s pretty simple in the mouth, with noticeable residual sugar. Overall kinda disappointing for this normally exemplary and idiosyncratic producer.

Delectable ate my contemporaneous notes on this, but from what I remember it had a beautiful balance of fruit and extract, just enough tannin, bright acids and high-toned limestoney Paso minerality. I prefer this over most Taurasis I’ve had.

This was quite an interesting bottle of wine. Not quite settling into any typical taste profile, and changing a bunch after breathing. It went from a taut almost acidic Zin style to a softer, lighter, Pinot Noir flavor profile. Fun.
