Domaine du Grand Prieur Vacqueyras Grenache Blend

Drank 4/10/21.

Nose of cherry liquer, and a bit of underbrush. Flavors of sweet red cherry and herb de Provence backed by tannins which are still quite firm. Medium finish. High alcohol at 15%, but unfortunately this does not wear it as well as some.

Good value

The Grenache is instantly recognizable. The wine is extremely soft for a southern rhone. Pretty disappointed.

Great wine powerful and spicy. Peppers and hints of leather. Really meaty fruit juice.

Stand up Cote du Rhone. Always lovely I'll treasure my last few bottles of this vintage with treasured friends

Lovely cote du Rhone that opens with time. Enjoyed this 2010 in 2015.

Just ok. The tannins, fruit, and earthiness all kind of fight. Better after some decanting.

Nice Cotes du Rhône. Not my favorite, but worked well with pizza.
