Plummy mulberry aromas with dusty tobacco notes. Took a while to open up. Fruit driven on the palate with dense mouthfilling flavours finishing with persistent powdery Tannins. Not particularly “Italian “ - could be new world. I bought this at Roscioli in Rome @Ceccherini Cristiano where you were the Sommelier. An excellent restaurant and outstanding cellar. One of the 1001 wines.

A bit cloudy and medium garnet red. Layered nose with dried cherries, bark, and earthy. Medium tannins (5/10) and medium body. Ripe cherries on the palate, a little earthy, vegetal and herbs. Medium plus finish. Drink till 2020.

Poured like sludge and smelled like pickles, but the palate was wonderful. Odd wine to say the least.

On my 1001 Wines To Try List, smells like new world mountain cab on the nose, crunchy red fruits, mint, herb. On the palate, Blackberry/raspberry jam, short licorice finish w/ medium+ tannins and herbs.

I sold lots of this. This one hung on well. I'm proud of it.

Very tannic and fruity with a nice coating on new oak. Lacked balance. Really nice with Bistecca alla Florentina #falesco #merlot #supertuscan #tuscany #ctbucklinwine

Subtle, but not subdued, the 2012 Falesco Montiano is crafted from 100% single-vineyard Merlot. Sweet Italian plums, black cherries, underbrush, dust, worn leather, decaying rose petals and sandalwood lead into a wine that is fuller and a touch lusher than one might expect for an Old World Merlot. Fine, polished tannins aptly frame red and black fruit, the finish is quite green—green tea, green wood and willow bark—despite this, it's inviting. 14.5% ABV | Sample
