I’m really digging Ripasso lately and this is a very nice one. Balanced, a little fruity, semi-dry but very smooth. Would be an excellent house red.

Good quality and texture. Elegant, deeply flavored. Bouquet of forest floor, hint of tar, black berry fruit and just a hint of gaminess. Silky texture, quite dry and long finish

Always pleased with Ripassos. Don't think I've ever had a bad one. This one was very nice, easy to drink, big flavors. Would love to have again

Hell ya ripassos. I don't think I've ever had one. Strange to find out spent grape skins add such dry decadence. Because this wine is dry but rife with blackberries, black cherries and chocolate. Tannins are slight which is funny considering it was soaked on skins. But I guess because they were spent it is a different story. The finish lingers on and on and I am now so curious to try more ripassos.

Love #Ripasso. This has great bang for the buck.

Dark red, oily color & texture, medium bodied. Some browning at the edge. Dumb at first opening to dry, consistent tannins, marachino cherry with faint herbs.

Opens nicely with lively tannin, fine acidity giving it an edge.

Nose supertight, even on night 2, and almost a bit reduced. Vague whiffs of dark macerated cherries and bakers chocolate. Rich and weighty feeling on the mouth. Good acids. But a tad hot. Seems like the structure is more discernible than any flavors. Not bad, but seems like it needs time to come out of its shell. 8.5+?

UPDATE: Final glass on the second night it's finally letting its guard down. Ripe fruit loosening up and some nice gravelly minerality making an entrance. Upping to 8.7
