I genuinely disliked this wine, and I can't seem to pinpoint what it was that really turned me off. The palate is very vapid, although it does have some interesting hints of skewered boar and slightly acidic blackberry. I dipped my pinky in the wine and rubbed it on my nostrils, which helped me identify the strong notes of sycamore and aged Wisconsin cheddar. Merlot generally is supposed to taste like fruits and such but this one just didn't offer much.
