Lean but still a tad austere. Plum and orange peel over cocoa and leather with light tannin and acidity

Not quite clean but largely blew off. Cherries, earth, mint.

Cuvée from five excellent domaines. Tea dominated. Needed some rustic food…
A few hours in the decanter helped.

Sipping Fine Wine

Deep ruby with a rich bouquet of fruit, spices, leather, and chocolate, rich and robust wine. On the palate flavors of cherry and ripe raspberry with notes of pepper and cacao. Long finish, nice balance with fine soft tannins ending with earthy sweet notes. Great now, Enjoyable!

2012 drunk in 2020. Beautiful color with slight tawny age on the rim. Distinct leather, jerky smokiness, yet very clean with a clear sour fruit. Definitely improved after an hour or two in the open bottle.

Muted nose begrudgingly offers up rose petals, moss and cherries. Palate displays excess acidity, which overwhelms the tannins. Finishes sharp and clumsy. Surprising for this producer.

Fun Italian wine thrown in to keep it interesting. Not as complex as it will be later. Has the old world dusty earth, but still young fruit. Still a little too firm.
