As good as the Chard was from the previous night, this Cab/Malbec blend is better.
The nose is deep and inviting with black currant, mulberry, roasted coffee beans, leather, cinnamon, and just lint of barnyard. Full body. Rich and powerful entry but settled down for a juicy and smooth palate with good flavor complexity. Good length with subtle green veggie note on the finish.
Paradoja is the first bottling of the young winery with inaugural vintage of 2006.

2015 vintage. What a pleasant surprise. Really well balanced. From Ecuador who'd of thought they make good wine there

First Ecuadorian Wine - doesn't get more equal than this. Delicious wine but way over-powering french oak on the nose and palate (aged 18 months in new french oak). Other notes of peach, plum, tobacco, mocha, black pepper, and spice. Drinking solo, but with the malbec, it could be well paired with skirt steak, or really any cut of grilled red meat.

Sub-awesome: way too much oak and not enough fruit. But still drinkable. This is an #Ecuadorian wine. At least it's not as unspeakable as I feared. Give the winemaker props for tying. He went to battle with the army he had. Then he oaked it. And give me props for risking $30 on it.
