Perfect pair with Christina’s Bolognese Sauce.

Italian red are so astringent w/o this kind of age. At this age, it shows its bright fruits rather than all wood plank and barrel toast young. It takes this kind of age to shine. Roughly 18 years in bottle and it is near its peak.

Bright, ripe, floral; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, raspberries, touch of plum. Dry herbs-sage lead, bay leaf, moist, grey, volcanic clay, sandstone, sandalwood, light dry, tobacco notes, dry brush, dry top soil, powdery dry rocks, some cola, cocoa powder, dark spice, baking spices- clove, light nutmeg, touch of cinnamon, light vanillin, withering red roses, excellent acidity, perfect balance, tension, structure, length and a two-minute finish.

Very evolved. Earth, resolved plums. Mature tasty. Good with grilled half chicken marinated in mustard sauce.

This is the wine we were looking for to go with our veal bolognese. Dark sour cherries, blackberries, black plum, raspberries, macerated strawberries, black cherry cola/licorice, liquid violets, stoney minerality, black dry earth, spice, charcoal, nice acidity, thinner body for a Burnello. Round & balanced, rich, elegant fruit finish. Surprise wine of the night! It's one fault, high alcohol that burns on the long finish.

2009, and just friggin' beautiful. Brilliant acidity, all the tart red fruit you could want, with dust and earth and grip.

The color is starting to look like it has age to it, almost a deep blood orange ring. Nose of earth, dry dirt, leather, cinnamon, blackberry, blood orange. Tannins fading with acidity still making the whole mouth salivate. The blood orange, leather and cinnamon bark hit upfront, with tree bark and dried dirt following. This is really nice. Drink within the next 5 years. Great with meaty pasta dishes.
