Dark fruit makes your olfactory senses dance as you approach the plate and open this bottle. The layers of complexity are astounding. Cherry and leather are up as you round first base, but you continue in the glory with second and third base easily with black cherry and blackberry while this wine mandates you round third and head home with the toasted vanilla. This 2013 Winemaker's Handprint Merlot is a home run people! I mean the ball is hit out of the park and still hasn't hit the ground grand slam! The wine is a blend of two vineyards, one each from #alexandervalley #drycreekvalley .

Dark ruby in color with a red rim.

Numb on the nose with blackberries, cherries, red currants, oak, vanilla, plums and peppercorn.

Tart on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red currents, cranberries, vanilla, wood, earth and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with great legs.

Medium finish with grippy tannins and tart cherries.

This Sonoma County Merlot is nice, but too tart for my taste. Beautiful hand-painted bottle.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

More oak that I'd prefer, but it's interesting enough. Packaging is cool too.

It's been a long time since I've had a Meeker Merlot, and I love it as much as ever! It has a robust flavor with dark red berries. Smooth finish. Great for just drinking or paired with dinner.

Love the art and design on this bottle! Softer tannins and a mellow taste. So mellow that it didn’t have a lot of diversity of flavors but. . . Still very enjoyable for the evening.
