Tonight I am starting the 4th of July weekend off with a Chenin Blanc. This comes from the Saumur Appellation of the Loire. On the nose is the typical Chenin nose, very aromatic with notes of apricot, pineapple, honeydew melon and a nice slate. On the palate the is mango, apricot, lemon, minerality and a medium acidity. I believe I purchased this for around $ 12.99.

The age is showing some complexity but still textbook Saumur with floral notes on nose along with wet stone and tropical notes on the palate. Great food wine and great value...
