From a winemaker who excels in making ageable wine this is a real stunner. Full of secondary characteristics, but still retaining it’s fruit on the mid palate. Earthy, green olive, meaty mushroom followed by raspberry and plum.

Bright red fruit, fennel on the nose. Nice minerality, balanced wine with hints of savory herbs and tobacco.

Everything is in its place. It's just so right. Thanks Mr. Davis!

Pretty and well- delineated Syrah made by someone with a gift for Pinot Noir. Stylistically subtle, a good benchmark both for this biodynamic vineyard and for the winemaker.

Round and dark fruited, this is clearly California, but Cali through a northern Rhone lens. A touch of Brett is a welcome and not intrusive addition, solidifying the old world sensibility

While there is nice fruit here, on balance this more about the earth and leather and messy and pepper side of Syrah. Not quite as angular as it's northern Rhone cousins, but shares a kinship.

This really took a long time to start showing its fruit and savory notes (around 3 hours). Very Northern Rhone profile. Black fruit, tobacco, pepper, and a bit of brambles. Wonderful balance and a long finish. I have had other Syrah offerings from Arcadian which I've enjoyed but I am very impressed this is from California.

2005 vintage. Surprisingly wound up on day 1 for a 10 year old wine. Better on day 2.
