Butter, vanilla cream, pineapple cake, salted pastry... all the classics with the developed tinge showing through. Classic older California Chard and enjoyable.

Reductive, very honeyed and savory. Honeyed pineapple, honeycomb and grilled lemon aromatics. Mango and salted popcorn on the palate. I was surprised at how this was drinking and thought it was a little better than the ‘09 BC it shared the table with.

A hefty dose of vanilla oak and lots of lemon with a bit of pithy bitterness on the finish. Not bad, but the wood will long outlast the fruit.

Delicious fairly weighty and oaky chard but with enough fruit on the palate to still be lively. Better after considerable aeration .

All acid and mineral and taut at the moment, and I kinda dig it. Good fruit in there too, but it's not all about that today...

Soaring aromas of spice and lemon followed by bright acid and structure. Gorgeous texture and a precise, long finish. Seven years old and this is a current release! This is what Chardonnay should be.

This is much more fruit driven than a recently tasted '07. Still restrained for Cali chardonnay, and a lovely match for butter poached halibut.

When scallops are on the table, this is just the thing. A little too round on its own, just in balance with the food.

With scallops? Don't mind if I do. Richness to match the butter, acidity to lift it all up and clean the palate.
