Bovale Utiel-Requena Old Vines Bobal

Nicely made and exuding character. Nose has bright, deep plummy fruit, along with nice, fragrant spice and a wisp of smoke. Mouthfilling, pure fruit on the palate, with a light touch, finish turns savory and shows lots of stony minerality. Nice acids and a bit of soft, chalky tannin comes out at the end. Terrific value.

Old vine Bobal😁 very Southern Rhone Valley-esque. Got that jelly jar, stewed fruit nose, bricky earth dark fruit on the palate. A little Zin-Essie as well with the lip smacking jam residual left over on my lips. Would love to see how this interacts with some sticky icky BBQ.😋

This shows more overt oak than the 2012. Also more depth, complexity and length. Solid.

Deep purple. Toasty, spicy and brambley. Should be great with spicy foods.

I really dig the blackberry sweetness of it, hints of orange are light but bright, a must try

My introduction to Bobal. Good balance of acid and tannins. Great with paella.
