Incredible QPR I tasted in Spain. Reminds me of a great Northern Rhone. Very funky nose of soy sauce, black fruit, leather, and Christmas fruit cake. For under $30 retail I can't think of much else I'd rather drink. Seek the 2009!

Every time I drink Finca Sandoval, I become convinced that Spanish Syrah should be a thing. Apologies for the crappy pic.

Really cool stuff...nose of maturing Syrah, currant jam, cedar. Inky with minimal rim gradation. Palate is fruit/tannin up front with northern Rhone gentility on the end. Soy sauce, roasted meat, iron, leather. We last had this four years ago and it’s still going strong. Worth tracking down.

Big aroma of old world tart cherries. Big tartness of cherries and tobacco. Let it breathe! It softens.
