Tonight I had a close friend over and we opened the 2014 Bacio Divino An Artful Red Wine. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Sangiovese and 3% Petit Verdot.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, black pepper, licorice, smokey oak and dry earthy soil.
On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, herbal notes, eucalyptus, clove, licorice and a nice earthy component.
The wine is full bodied velvety mouth feel with medium + acidity and medium + smooth tannins that leads to a fresh fruitful finish. A very nice wine that.can be enjoyed now or 10-15 years from now. Happy hump day and please be safe the rest.of the week. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Weekend wine with parents continued. I didn’t have to think long when trying to decide what wine to bring for my short weekend visit. I picked Bacio Divino because it is always a crowd pleaser. The wine is described as being one that “Cabernet devotees as well as those who appreciate artful blends can enjoy.” I agree 💯. My mom describes this wine as being “delicious” — winner.
Bacio Divino is lead by the husband and wife team, Claus and Diane Janzen. This wine is their flagship wine that uses Cabernet sourced from Beckerstoff’s Heritage Oakville and Rutherford vineyards. The wine also includes a small amount of Sangiovese and Merlot.
2016 details: 94% Cabernet, 5% Sangiovese, 1% Merlot. 14.6% ABV. Kirk Venge is a consulting winemaker. 215 cases.

Very smooth on the front and bold flavor of currants, blackerries, & spices on the back palate... A GREAT little bottle!!!
