Drank 9\26\20. Very nice with Rigatoni Bolognese.

Nose of red cherry, earth, and some clove. Flavors of red cherry and soil backed by medium plus drying tannins. Finish is fairly long, dominated by red fruit and dry tannins.

Smells of a homemade cherry cola.

Medium weight with floral characteristic of the purple kind, some mint, some decomposing leaves - Fresh - and this is the amount of tannin that shows through. A tiny bit of acidity grasps at straws for a Moment, then fails to do so.
A solid Chianti for a Wednesday evening.

Total Wine Fla: necessary decant, still raspy with a shrill acidic backbone.

From the Tuscany region, medium ruby color with aromas of ripe red fruits. The palate brings fruit forward with sour cherry, plums and hints of nutty tastes. Tannins are firm with high acidity noted. Medium finish, overall good value for this Chianti.

Smooth, and tasty. A nice light blend for a Saturday night at home. Earns a Dale Jr. 88

Gotta say, not like your typical Chianti Classico.. but wow it is very flavorful Sangeovese. I am beginning to see a bit of a house style, from their Brunello, to Toscanas, single varietals, up to this Classico. This wine was very well oaked, and a rustic feel, plenty wild cherry but very present flavors of sweet tobacco and licorice, and cedar on the pallet. I think that it was overall a wonderful Chianti Classico, a bit different from the norm, but that's what makes a wine unique and worth trying! Great to pair with heavy marsala sauces, with veal or steak, and heavy cheeses.

My 650th review! Cheers everyone!

Light brick in color with an orange tint and light intensity.

Mild on the nose with cherries, plums, strawberries, cranberries, oak, light licorice, vanilla, earth, forest floor and black pepper.

Medium bodied with high acidity and great legs.

Tart on the attack and dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, plums, pomegranate, toasted oak, licorice, minerals, spices, dirt and peppercorn.

Long, tart finish with smooth, round tannins, peppercorn and tart cherries.

This six-year-old Chianti, is made from 100% Sangiovese, and is a little unbalanced by itself, but it went well with an Italian chicken dish. Too Light for my taste, though.

Aged for 12 months in oak barrels.

14% alcohol by volume.

I liked it, hubby loved it. Smell is musty strawberry and vanilla. Very acidic, medium-light body. Finish is very astringent, lingering bitterness. Cranberry, strawberry, and leather.
