This is a Shiraz? Very atypical of this variety; light and rather fruity and not possessing any of the smoky meat or minerally qualities I'm used to. I guess it was quantity over quality of fruit. It was actually an okay wine, just not what I expected.

Lazio Rosso IGT 2013, 13%.
Bottle tasted in November 2014.
Young wine made with Syrah grapes, aged briefly in oak barriques.
Young and fresh, quite green, light personality, not bad, just very different from the Syrah I produce i Tuscany, but an interesting interpretation for this grape.

Smooth, subtle and very drinkable. Better once open for a while. Touch of spiciness but overall somewhat “watery” if you know what I mean
