Wow. This is one of the most satisfying California Cabs I've had in some time. Huge tannin, extraordinary restraint and elegance, forest floor, soil. The finish on this wine has one of my favorite reoccurring hybrid flavors: burnt vanilla and menthol. Terrific, Bordeaux style Cabernet.

Tonight was the 38th Big Taste of Fort Worth in honor of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Great wines and phenomenal food pairings. Went through about 25 wines tonight, so I'm only highlighting my favorites.
Aside from the Elk Cove Pinot, this wine really stood out to my wife and I. And it's a '14! This is a very typical Napa cab with sweet toasted oak, blueberry rush, and a very small hint of dark chocolate. This isn't a blockbuster knock your socks off wine, but everything about this checked off our boxes...style, taste, smell, color, finish. And again, all as a '14.
