Lujan De Cuyo, Mendoza, Cuyo, Argentina
Dark ruby in color with a red rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, currants, plums, blueberry pie, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, smoke, spices, chocolates and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, chocolates, spices, licorice, vanilla, coffee, tobacco, vegetables, earth and peppercorn.
Long finish with medium tannins and black pepper.
This Argentinian Malbec is balanced, complex and interesting. Nice by itself, as a sipping wine, or with food like BBQ steak.
Needs an hour or two, to open up properly.
Aged for 8 months in Oak barrels.
14.8% alcohol by volume.

Very bright, ripe black cherry, and black plum fruits surface initially on the nose and the palate, aromas of African Violet, light pepper and smoke and a taste of dry river bed. There is a green streak towards the end, like grape leaf and alpine undergrowth, that dissipates in the undertow of fruits and sweet tobaccos that remain with chewy fruit tannins building.
