Rich, fleshy, even muscular, tannins now calmed down enough to let the elegance come through. Dark cassis, hints of graphite. Last bottle but my gut says this will improve as it just turned a corner from 5 previous. Great PV.

No interest from wifey, so Mo and I were left to enjoy this.
For the vintage, it's impressive. Nose displays meats, tobacco, capsicum and leather. The palete displays an appealing softness and roundness. Palette is consistent with the nose, with compact berries and dark fruits. Finishes a shade tart, which softened over time.

Amazing! Specially since it’s been seating in my pantry for 6 years. Bought it in on my Visit to Bordeaux in 2017.

Vacations that involve both cycling and wine are the absolute best. Already thinking of where to go in 2023.
Last night my neighbors shared this gem that they brought back from a recent Bordeaux wine and bike holiday. (Note to self to spend more time with the fun neighbors 😁).
The 2014 Château Destieux was super approachable after a short decant. Very ripe concentrated fruit, but not in a bad way. Complex with soft tannins. 14.5% ABV. Really a lovely bottle.
Rule #64 Remember to bring back a bottle (or bottles) while traveling. The subsequent stories about the adventure will pair perfectly with that wine.

This was fantastic. Drinking well w Nice finish that unwinds. Plenty of tannins left to take it another 15-20 years.
