On the palate flavors of fresh youthful berry fruit, cherry, licorice, vanilla and well integrated cedar. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit character, cacao and cedar character , very nice!

Floral driven on the nose with intense notes of violets and wild lavender along with ripe cherries, raspberries, blackberries, leather, and sweet spices. A mid to full bodied red with a nice well rounded silky texture, delicious red and dark fruit flavors with a balsamic midpalate followed by licorice that leads to a cool mineral infused finish with creamy tannins.

Macan is the result of a new partnership between Vega Sicilia and Benjamin de Rothschild born out of a meeting between Pablo Alvarez and Benjamin de Rothschild in 2003. The winery is being built in Rioja, the first move if Vega into the region and the winery is designed to be a monument ;-) The result is un unapproachable wine based on Tempranillo, that needs still a few year to age. My score 86 (better with time?), drink from 2019-2027

Not a typical #rioja#macan#vegasiciliawines Dark deep color black currant nose and profound and dry espresso beans and leather and sandalwood palate. Very enjoyable now and has a brilliant future ahead if you're able to wait that long.
