Decided to crack this rare one, only 75 cases produced, since the winery opened the library today and offered up some more bottles. This Syrah is extremely big and complex, lots of tobacco, coffee, and earth up front but finishes in a lingering, soft, and ethereal manner. I believe this is the best vintage of The Dare to date and looking forward to seeing how this wine progresses over the next several years.

Classic syrah aromas of blackberries, camphor, and hints of iodine. Full bodied on the palate but with surprisingly soft tannins which caused it to lack some of the backbone needed to take it to the next level. Overall an excellent wine, but probably needs to be consumed sooner rather than later.

Jun 16th, 2017Amazing wine. The dare was fulfilled!!! The finish is extraordinary and bouquet is heavenly. A veritable symphony in your mouth. I could drink a case of this in a sitting if it did not have alcohol in it.
