Tasting group 5th, my 1st place. Blind. Dried sweet cherries in aromas. Cherry juice/concentrate. Dry tannins. Bitter balance.

Not a sipping wine, went very well with a roasted tenderloin and truffled mashed potatoes. Still showing sharp tannins even after some hours in the decanter.

Still so tight. Should have decanted before showing up to dinner but still lovely.

A wine that's over a decade old and yet tastes so fresh and youthful you can practically smell the limestone vineyard and minty vine canopy. 

For me, Alex Sanchez's wines are tied together stylistically by their intense aromatics and lightness of extraction. This choice of using only free-run juice let's the vineyard sites really shine and express terroir. This particular vineyard is in Castiglione Falletto on 250 meters slopes of limestone. Tons of energy with dried dark fruit, and menthol cherry candies. Beautiful.
