Terre di Prenzano Chianti Classico Sangiovese

My prior notes from 2022 still seem applicable. This is a big Chianti, not a quaffer.

Very pretty nose has sultry, dark ripe cherry, minerally gravel, dark florals. Soft and low-toned in the mouth, with dark fruit and intensely mineral savory elements. Some soft tannin, but doesn’t detract from the fleshy, flowing texture. Acids are a tad on the low side, so I’d drink and enjoy this over the next few years. Yummy.

Deep Ruby with aromas of black fruit and spice, aged for 12-months in oak. On the palate flavors of black cherry, currants and blackberry fruit with vanilla, spice and floral notes. Full tannins, medium finish ending with fruit, cacao and spice. Drink now! Enjoy with grilled chicken.

This is a big Chianti Classico. Big macerated cherry fruit, iodine, old leather, gravel. Still tannic, it’s dark and intense. Wasn’t expecting this, but perfect with the intense food we’re having tonight.

Firm tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, pepper spice and earthy notes. Starting to drink well now! Enjoy with bolognese sauce over pasta.

Super good Chianti. Very smooth and instantly drinkable.

Chianti Classico DOCG 2009, 13.5%

All the dark fruit. Cinnamon. Mild tannins. Definitely needs to open a bit, but really nice.

V16. Nice wine. Olive nose. Fresh raspberry and black cherry fruit. Tight, black pepper and leather finish. Enjoyable.
