This Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a little disappointing. Unbalanced with red fruits with light earth notes.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Tart finish with firm tannins, after 90 minutes of airtime.

Probably in its dumb phase and might need a few years in the bottle to mature.

Not what I expected from the excellent 2012 vintage.

Aged for 26 months in French oak barrels.

14.4% alcohol by volume.

85 points.

$46.

Pick up the last one of these sometime last year for the particular vintage. First time trying this was the 2010, and the 2012 did not disappoint as well. Bright red and dark plum notes, delicious red apple, cocoa powder, and sweet mocha undertones. Racy and delicately structured tannins thoughout, and vibrancy that'll make this bottle age swimmingly. Drinking nicely now, however if you pair it with food, you'll find a pairing that melds perfectly into your cuisine, which is what you want. Can't wait for new vintages!

Great presentation of a Bordeaux blend out of California!! 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, and some Cabernet Franc and Merlot, and aged 33 months in a French oak. This produces a very elegant blend with an amazing showcase of blackberries and red fruits, with a tobacco, creme de casis, and mocha to please the nose and coax it into earthy aromas and toasted oak. It's still called a cabernet bc it's above 75% Cab Sauv but it's clearly more old world left bank Bordeaux in style! Silky smooooooth.

From Mitch Cosentino. Elegant and Bright with some baking spice on the finish. A bit too racy to drink without food.

Tbh not sure what these low ratings are. This wine was great with food once it opens. 1.5 hr decant. Chocolate powder; blackberries. White pepper.

Tannic, kind of chocolatey, a bit sour, and full of oak and dark fruit.

Balanced but with more tannins then I prefer. Nice oak but a bit mineral for my taste. A very nice wine just not my style.

V10. Lots of good things going on here. Black licorice and cedar bouquet. Big black pepper, blackberry and very slight green pepper fruit. Nice tannins that will continue to soften. Wine is very good now, but will continue to open.
