Bechthold Vineyard Cinsault

Nose is a bit pruney/raisiny. Also a bit of violet. Low acid and mouthfilling, it’s not jammy but still seems a bit out of balance. Raisiny notes persist on the finish. Interesting but not a repeat.

Blackberry, raspberry, prune, currant, vanilla, oak and mossy earth. Great structure and well-integrated tannins.

Initial hit of ripe raspberry. Palate is initially very closed. Noticeable VA but not objectionable.

Fruit, structure, floral, floats evenly across the palate.

Great expression from this great vineyard. Restraint, roses, balance.

Wildly bright and drinking beautifully.

Great wine, super old vines.

Have had wines from several producers utilizing the fruit of the ancient vines from this vineyard. Fruit is fantastic, and every winemaker has their say (some this way, some that way) and all are producing fantastic results.

Nice to have a really nice wine like this on hand when the other selection doesn’t work out. Happy to have more in the cellar.
